Sometimes, a difficult setback turns out to be a blessing in disguise. When we initially acquired the property, we agreed to a few unfavorable conditions—a mistake we certainly learned from. This unfortunately resulted in some property theft by the tenants leasing a portion of the land.
After some tough conversations, we evicted the tenants and reclaimed full control of the property. Doing so freed up a two-acre tract that is much more build-ready, prompting us to shift our cabin site about 500 feet to the south.
First course of work was to tear down a dilapidated structure that had been leased.
We were able to find a really good demolition contractor to make short work of the job.

The alleged “good bones” turned out to be the valley of “dry bones”. Lots of rot, insect damage, and scorched wires.

Now, with a clean canvas let the cabin build begin!
